American Idol Grammy Nominations!

It's another great year of Grammy recognition for the Miss American Idols.

Season Six Miss American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, has been all over the radio airwaves with three hit singles in 2008, she just won her first American Music Award, and now she has her first Grammy nomination. She is in the running for Best Pop Collaboration for her duet with Chris Brown, No Air. Unfortunately, this was her one and only chance to be in the elite company of Grammy winners in the Best New Artist category, but she was overlooked.

The Supreme Miss American Idol, Season Four winner, Carrie Underwood is once again nominated for Best Country Female Vocal. She has won in this category at the Grammys for two years in a row and after winning three years in a row at the CMA's it's looking good for her to win again. Once again, her biggest competition is coming from my other favorite country female vocalist, Leann Rimes. In an ideal world, these two former Best New Artist winners would be in a tie every year.

Season Three Miss American Idol winner, Fantasia, didn't even release a new album this year, but the voters seem to love her so much they had to find a way to nominate her again. This year it comes in the category Best R&B Duo for her work with another Season Three Miss American Idol finalists, Oscar Winner, Jennifer Hudson.

In fact, this is just one of Jennifer Hudson's FOUR Grammy nominations. Her debut album has been very well-received garnering recognition in the category Best R&B Album. The first single, Spotlight, is up for Best R&B Song, and, of course, Jennifer is the favorite to win Best R&B Female Vocal.

Hopefully they will all get a chance to perform on the live telecast and also get to accept their awards on the air. Carrie and Jordin were cheated at this year's American Music Awards by getting their awards in ceremonies prior to the live telecast. What a mistake that was! Hopefully the Grammys will give the fans what we want to see.
