More Favorite Songs of 2021

I recently listed my Top 10 Favorite Songs of 2021. Just for clarification let me explain that those songs all had to meet the eligibility for that list by reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 during 2021. I happen to be one of those people that believes that "It's not a hit until it's a hit on Billboard". Just in case you don't know, in order to reach the top of the Billboard HOT 100, a song must get the most sales, streams and radio airplay for any given week.

There were lots of other songs that I loved in 2021 that failed to make the top 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 singles chart. Here's a list of some of my other favorites in 2021. One thing that I can say about all of these songs is that it's a shame it didn't get more sales and airplay to do better on the Billboard HOT 100 singles chart.

In the ideal world, great songs from Country, Pop, Dance and R and B would all find their way to the upper positions of the Billboard HOT 100.

Next Girl - Carly Pearce: I am so happy that this amazing strong female singer songwriter is continuing to get more recognition and accolades. She won the CMA for Female Vocalist of the Year and she deserves to keep going up on to the next level.

Whiskey and Rain - Michael Ray: There's just something about a song having the perfect shuffle beat for a stationary cha cha that makes it an instant favorite. This is one of the best to come out in a long time.

Martha Divine - Ashley McBryde: Another strong female singer songwriter delivering the classic story song of revenge on cheating hearts. A great beat with impressive vocals to perfectly tell the dark tale of getting away with murder.

Undivided - Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard: This is the perfect anthem of hope for a better future. You can't live in denial that the country is more divided and polarized than ever so hearing this on repeat all year shined a glimmer of optimism that we can all come together.

Somebody Like That - Tenille Arts: It's so refreshing to hear a strong female singer songwriter deliver a fantastic song that comes from her heart and also serves impressive vocals with a great beat for a two-step. .

Freedom Was A Highway - Jimmie Allen and Brad Paisley: Jimmie is having a great year appearing on Dancing With The Stars, having hit songs and earning a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. This is a great song with the nostalgia of the old days and a welcome return of Brad Paisley.

The Good Ones - Gabby Barrett: This former American Idol finalist came back with another amazing song to prove that her big hit last year was not a fluke. She's a strong female singer songwriter who is the real deal.

Younger Me - Brothers Osbourne: Coming out as gay this year, TJ Osbourne and his brother John give us a heartfelt anthem of inspiration to hang in there confident that life gets better no matter how rough it was when we were younger.

Famous Friends - Chris Young and Kane Brown: Great music is a celebration of living our best lives with all the special people who mean so much to us. This is the song to enjoy when you get together with all of yours.

GOOD TIME - Niko Moon: During the hard times we need this song to allow us to take a breath, relax and just have that GOOD TIME.

More Favorite Songs of 2018

I recently listed my Top 10 Favorite Songs of 2018. Just for clarification let me explain that those songs all had to meet the eligibility for that list by reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 during 2018. I happen to be one of those people that believes that "It's not a hit until it's a hit on Billboard". Just in case you don't know, in order to reach the top of the Billboard HOT 100, a song must get the most sales, streams and radio airplay for any given week.

There were lots of other songs that I loved in 2018 that failed to make the top 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 singles chart. Here's a list of some of my other favorites in 2018.

Love Wins - Carrie Underwood gave us an anthem with a message perfect for 2018 and for every year moving forward. Let's walk hand in hand. We are made to be here for each other. #LoveWins #StrongerTogether

High Horse - Kacey Musgraves has already won the Album of the Year for Golden Hour at the CMA Country Music Association Awards and now she is up for Album of the Year at the Recording Academy / GRAMMYs too. High Horse is just one example of why it is getting so much acclaim.

Diane - Cam is a real find as one of the Next Women of Country. This is exactly what we are talking about when we ask why isn't country radio playing female artists. Great songs like Diane are getting overlooked.

Make A Little - Midland: Thank goodness for Midland and the amazing country music they are giving us. And you gotta love their outfits!!!

Most People Are Good - Luke Bryan became a very entertaining judge on American Idol this year as well as maintaining his status as the leading hitmaking country superstar with songs like Most People Are Good.

Love Someone - Brett Eldredge not only served his fans this great song for two stepping, but this video also showcases why both he and his dog, Edgar Boogie, or both social media superstars.

Done For Me - Charlie Puth has been on a roll for the past few years delivering the best in pop music and he continued the streak in 2018 with Done For Me.

You Make It Easy - Jason Aldean delivered a true work of art with beautiful and romantic waltz. The story in the wonderful three episode video series hits all the right emotional buttons.

Burning Man - The combination of Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne on Burning Man is absolute FIRE!!!

Lose It - Kane Brown with his hot country pop jam Lose It. He was the hottest this to happen in country music this year and this song exemplifies all the heat and energy he generated.

More Favorite Songs of 2017

I recently listed my Top 10 Favorite Songs of 2017. Just for clarification let me explain that those songs all had to meet the eligibility for that list by reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 during 2017. I happen to be one of those people that believes that "It's not a hit until it's a hit on Billboard".

Unforgettable (Mariah Carey Remix) - French Montana: While the original version of this song actually was a huge Top 10 hit on the Billboard HOT 100, it didn't actually catch my attention until the far superior Mariah Carey remix was released. Her outstanding vocals are a perfect match to the thumping beat. Radio should have gotten their act together and played this version in heavy rotation.

It Ain't My Fault - Brothers Osbourne: Get on your feet and clap your hands along with the high energy country jam. The video is a high speed chase and adventure that takes you along for the ride.

The Fighter - Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban: We needed something to hold us over while Carrie is between albums and this pop infused country song fit the bill perfectly.

Drinkin' Problem - Midland: These guys are keeping traditional country sounds alive with this song that is perfect for a stationary cha cha.

What Ifs - Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina: We shouldn't drive ourselves crazy thinking about how things could be different, but this song sure captures all of the feelings very well.

Seeing Red - Dustin Lynch: A young country artist who still wears jeans, boots and cowboy hat! So sexy and sings red hot songs too!

I Could Use A Love Song - Maren Morris: One of the next women of country with a great song that is a perfect two step.

Dirt On My Boots - Jon Pardi: He won the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year because of great songs like this.

Road Less Traveled - Lauren Alaina: It's been 6 years since she was the 1st Runner Up on American Idol and she has finally had her breakthrough hit. It was worth the wait!

Something I'm Good At - Brett Eldredge: He's got a great voice, great personality and a great sense of humor. And, of course, great songs like this one that is perfect for an energetic quick step.

Somebody Else Will - Justin Moore: What else can I say except that it's a good song I like to hear on repeat.
